This page describes how different types of signals should be wired and how the connectors should be chosen.

There are 4 main classes that separates different types of signals. Each class disturbs the classes coming after itself. For example; class 1 disturbs classes 2,3, and 4; class 3 disturbs class 4.

It is a good idea to physically separate different groups of signals with shielded cables and not use them in the same connector.
